Our optometrist’s chair is waiting for someone who loves the clinical side of the job. You’ll examine, fit and follow up patients of all ages in a practice that gives you the time to do it properly — and a sales team that turns your prescription into the right pair of glasses.
The role
- Carry out complete eye examinations for adults and children — refraction, binocular vision, ocular health screening
- Fit and follow up contact lenses (daily, monthly, toric, multifocal) and coach patients on lens care
- Prescribe the right lens solution — single vision, progressive, photochromic, blue-light… — and brief the sales team so the patient leaves with the right pair
- Spot what needs a doctor and refer with a proper letter — we work with ophthalmologists across the island
- Keep clean digital records and follow patients up over time (recalls, Rx history, dispensing notes)
- Be part of the shop’s life: advice to the team, school and corporate screenings, continuing education
Your profile
- Degree in Optometry (BSc or equivalent). New graduates are welcome — experience is a plus, not a must
- Registered — or eligible to register — to practise optometry in Mauritius
- A caring, patient manner: you take the time to explain, and people trust you
- Confident with contact lens fitting, or keen to build that skill with us
- Fluent in English and French — Creole is a strong plus with our patients
- Comfortable on screen: our records, prescriptions and bookings are 100% digital
- Team player — you work hand in hand with the sales team, not in a silo

- Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri: 09:30–17:30
- Thursday: 09:30–13:00
- Saturday: 09:30–16:00
